Sarcoglycans are a subcomplex of transmembrane proteins whichare part of the dystrophin-glycoprotein complex. They areexpressed in the skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle. Althoughnumerous studies have been conducted on the sarcoglycansubcomplex in skeletal and cardiac muscle, the manner of thedistribution and localisation of these proteins along thenonjunctional sarcolemma is not clear [1]. This family containsalpha and epsilon members. Sarcoglycan alpha/epsilon Sarcoglycan_2
